Mid-Atlantic Fiber Association Learning Weekend on July 31st and August 1 & 2, 2009 at Marywood University in Scranton, PA. The Mid-Atlantic Fiber Association (MAFA) is a non-profit organization whose objectives are to promote education in the fiber arts, to plan, organize, and conduct conferences, and to facilitate communication among member guilds.
MAFA represents nearly 60 guilds from 8 states and the District of Columbia in the Mid-Atlantic region. Our member guilds are located in NY, PA, MD, VA, NJ, DE, DC, NC, and WV. Individuals become automatic members through membership in a participating guild.

National Museum of the American Coverlet the first independent, year-round institution devoted to American woven coverlets NMAC gives coverlets the recognition and respect they deserve, while bringing their history to life. The Museum opened in Bedford, Pennsylvania’s historic (1859) former Common School building in May of 2006. In three short years, it has welcomed visitors from around the world.
NMAC offers changing exhibitions, generally showing 50 or more coverlets at a time, along with special events, classes, and a Shop. They are open daily, seven days a week. If you are traveling a distance, they encourage you to call ahead.

Weavolution a gathering place for handweavers Weavolution is (or will be) a social network for handweavers, where people can share projects, see what others are doing, or discuss weaving-related matters (or just hang out) in our discussion forums.
Weavers of all types will be welcome, from basketweavers to those who weave on small peg looms to those who use large, complex table and floor looms.
Weavolution will offer user notebooks to catalog projects, ways to share weaving plans or patterns and find project inspiration, forums to socialize with other weavers, and methods for finding information and resources for weaving.
